As many know, My wife and I moved to Jersey, in the Channel Islands, in October 2007. This was so we could be closer to Trevena’s (my wifes) family. As the Channel Islands have different trading laws it made sense (financially and practically) to cease trading Blue Flame IT Ltd in the UK and form a new company in Jersey, under Jersey law.
With effect from 1st January 2008, Blue Flame IT Ltd passed ownership of this site, its contents, its assets, its customers, its goodwill and transaction history to Blue Flame IT (JERSEY) Ltd.
Blue Flame IT (JERSEY) Ltd. is a Jersey Incorporated business having registration number 99294. Your personal data is safe as Blue Flame IT (JERSEY) Ltd is also a registered data controller with the Jersey Data Protection Commission.
In real terms what is good about this for you? Well thanks to the fact that Jersey is outside of the EU for VAT purposes, and the second fact that our turnover is less than £300,000 per year (yes thats right – we are not rich!) we do not have to register locally for GST (another Tax!) so you are saving in real terms 17.5% because we no longer have to charge EU customers VAT – this is with immediate effect!
