Just a quick update. I am now home after the yacht race from Jersey to La Trinite-Sur-Mer, with great news.
Along with our skipper, Mark Tucker, and other crew members Dan and Chris, we managed to dodge the force 5 winds and fog and rain to take the 1st prize overall (on corrected time) in the Capita 9th International Yacht Race!! We also won 1st place in the Class 2 division. While we were not the first over the finish line, the handicap system corrected our time to be 3 hours ahead of any other yacht in the race! Wow!
So tomorrow I join Jersey Sailing for my assesment for my next yacht certification… more sailing fun!
During this time you can still purchase any of our extensions for immediate online delivery, things should go smooth for you - however if you have any problems please contact me using the link on our site and I will address your problem on my return (as I catch up, please be patient!)

We are pleased to publish three videos, a quick “how to install”, and two 10min long videos that take you through creating a simple contact form with Joomla Forms.

Just a quick post to let you know my plans, because some people get annoyed if I do not respond to support queries quick enough
I will be offline, not near a PC, well about 50 miles offshore! between the following dates:
25th July - 31st July
2nd August - 8th August
The first week, I am taking part in the CAPITA 9th INTERNATIONAL YACHT RACE St. Helier to La Trinité-sur-Mer and so will be unable to take phone calls (Against race rules), unable to check emails and unable to respond to any drop everything requests..
So, you have been warned.
During this time you can still purchase any of our extensions for immediate online delivery, things should go smooth for you - however if you have any problems please contact me using the link on our site and I will address your problem on my return (as I catch up, please be patient!)

What secret? Well ask the first purchasers of a new extension for Joomla 1.5!
The site is there - while I populate it with goodies, seems that already some people have found the download link for Joomla Forms on the site
The Joomla Forms forum is now online as well - although the template needs some work… (Any phpBB3 experts out there?)

Take a free test drive - right now - hands on - full control ! …
The long awaited, Joomla 1.5 only, Form Generation component from Phil Taylor/Blue Flame is almost ready for its first public release. Ahead of this we have made a hands on demo site for you to take a look at.
http://demo.joomla-forms.com/administrator/
Go to the above web address and you will automatically logged in to Joomla 1.5 and presented with the Joomla Forms administrator console, from where you can create your own forms with unlimited fields and actions until you are fully satisfied. Then click the “Preview Form” button to be taken to the form example like: http://demo.joomla-forms.com/example-form-1
If we don’t get any major issues in the next 24 hours we will aim to allow downloads of Joomla Forms from tomorrow onwards… Keep watching our blog (http://blog.phil-taylor.com) and the Joomla Forms website (http://www.joomla-forms.com/ ) for more details.
This extension is only compatible with Joomla 1.5.x and NOT Joomla 1.0.x and also requires PHP5+

Several people have emailed me recently to ask our plans for mosListMessenger (Which is currently NOT Joomla 1.5.x compatible!)
Well, mosLM is actually a fork of the commerical application ListMessenger developed by Matt Simpson of Canada (A bloody nice bloke! - having met him and his wife in London last year.) mosLM is forked and developed under license from Matt.
Matt is working hard on v2.2 of ListMessenger with a whole suite of new features and tools. As soon as Matt has made a stable release of ListMessenver v2.2 we will set to work integrating/forking that version to Joomla 1.5.x and adding a suite of Joomla specific functions to the code.
I have no set date for the start of this work, apart from Matt assures me that (as soon as he finds time - we all have that problem!) ListMessenger v2.2 will be released (I hear its pretty much ready).
Hope this explains our plans clearly

Just now I have uploaded the latest versions of Joomla KB and Tags:
- Joomla KB v0.1.1933
- Joomla Tags v 0.1.1937
These versions will only work on PHP5 based servers! We will NOT be providing any older versions that are PHP4 compatible, for one reason, there are several security related issues fixed in these latest versions, as well as a hell of a load of bug fixes and live chat removal. Let me say that again WE WILL NOT be providing older versions! So don’t even ask
We have announced our move to PHP5 a while ago, and have made the fact that our components require PHP5 on the buy now pages of our components for some time now…

Today I had been contracted to move a site over to GoDaddy’s servers, The site was Mambo 4.5(1.0.9) but that made no difference as I upgraded them to Joomla 1.0.15
The reason for this blog post is to highligh and publisise (so that others are helped!) the fact that, for some strange reason, GoDaddy requires an extra step in the process to set up SEF Urls in Joomla.
I found the solution over here and the important difference to normal hosts is this bit:
Edit the htaccess.txt file — For Search Engine Friendly (SEF) URLs, you will need to edit the htaccess.txt file to turn on the RewriteBase option. In the file, you will find a line that reads #RewriteBase / that you need to change to RewriteBase / — remove the pound (#) sign.
Hope this helps someone
